Do you want to learn more about Zoom teeth whitening?

You may have heard about Zoom tooth whitening because it is the most popular teeth whitening procedures used in the U.S. Just because you\’ve heard of it doesn\’t mean you understand how it works though.

What is Zoom Teeth Whitening?

\"Philips

Tooth whitening is used to lighten the color of your teeth and remove stains and discoloration from coffee, tea, wine, smoking and improper teeth care. Zoom is a widely used bleaching process to achieve these goals.

Zoom teeth whitening is an in-office tooth whitening procedure (although there is also a home version) which uses the Zoom lamp, a tool used to accelerate the bleaching process and activate hydrogen peroxide whitening. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin and bleaches the stains, whitening your teeth while leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.

Zoom Teeth Whitening In-Office Introduction

A short introduction to the ZOOM procedure

Zoom Whitening Examination

\"ToothBefore you can proceed with a teeth whitening procedure, Dr. Wilhite or your dentist will need to perform an examination of your teeth and gums to ensure you are a good candidate for Zoom teeth whitening. He will check your health, discuss your oral hygiene habits to determine if you will benefit from Zoom. Sometimes whitening may not be your best optionThis will help you and your dentist agree on the whitening product or technique that\’s best for you.

Sometimes whitening may not be your best option. For example, if you have crowns or veneers, these will not work with to conventional whitening agents.

You may not be able to perform teeth whitening until you have had other procedures done. If you have cavities, they will need to be treated first before whitening. If you haven\’t had a standard check up and teeth cleaning in a long time, then that will have to be done first.

Only a dentist can tell if you are a good candidate for Zoom. Dr. Wilhite offers consultations for teeth whitening. If you are a first-time patient, you can receive a free teeth whitening after your first checkup and cleaning if you mention our online free teeth whitening special.
